To put it simply, there are two types of yeast infections. Those that develop from the inside out, and infections you pick up externally. One is relatively easy to deal with, and the other is not.

For example, if you have a vaginal yeast infection that is picked up from a partner, a contaminated hot tub or whatever, you may be able to take a few pills and the problem is solved. Other than making sure you do not get infected again.

But if the yeast infection developed from the inside out, from a candida overgrowth in the intestines that spreads to various parts of your body, it is much harder to get rid of. When you take a few pills to knock it out, it doesn't stay knocked out. It is continually being reinfected from the overgrowth in the intestines. By the way, men can pick up yeast infections from sexual contact and infect their partners, and they also develop it from candida overgrowth and infect their partners. Generally, everyone intimately involved with each other needs to be treated

Unfortunately, for most people a candida overgrowth in the intestines is the main cause of their infection. Estimates are that as many as 85% of the population suffers from this. You could have both modes of infection happening. Being reinfected externally and internally.

So what is the best way to deal with your candida yeast infection if it comes from candida overgrowth in the intestines?

The medicines the doctors give you don't take care of the problem. Even if you take a drug to kill candida throughout the body, which by the way, is not good for your liver, the candida rapidly grows back because there is plenty of room and the right environment in the intestines for it to do so. And the surviving candida organisms that regrow are the ones resistant to the drugs or herbs or oils or whatever is being used to kill them.

And then you have the diet... No fun, and it doesn't really work unless you are always on it.

Candida is tough. I can't tell you how many calls I have had from people telling me they have tried everything and nothing worked. Even when they went on a super strict candida diet which was driving them crazy. And in some cases, causing excessive weight loss. When you think the problem is solved, and go off the diet, boom it is back again. Many people deal with candida caused yeast infections for years and years and years. It is a bear of a problem and can cause serious health issues. There are some health practitioners who feel it is the underlying cause of many diseases, including cancer.

And now for a little more information on candida yeast infections.

When our bodies lose their proper immune protection, candida "morphs" from being a beneficial yeast into a harmful fungus. In its fungal form it develops rhizoids (long root-like structures that are invasive and penetrate the mucosa. Once this happens, the boundary between our intestinal tract and the rest of the circulatory system breaks down, (leaky gut syndrome) and this allows partially digested proteins to travel into the bloodstream where they act as toxins and cause all sorts of health problems.

What causes the change from good to bad?

There are many theories. Most naturopaths concur that the conversion happens due to some sort of attack on our immune systems-either prolonged antibiotic use, taking steroids or oral contraceptives on a regular basis, or a high sugar diet. It could be a combination of these. It is also conjectured that candida increases its numbers during periods of stress and lowered immune states.

Why is Candida so difficult to remove?

The suggested long term use is 1 packet per day, right before you eat a meal. Let it dissolve in your mouth and follow immediately with 4-6 oz. of water. Then eat. For stubborn or elevated candida difficulties, you may want to use 2 packets daily for 30 days, and then use 1 packet per day thereafter for maintenance. Another product has also been proven to fight Candida albicans effectively. The USP challenge test conducted by Bioscreen Testing Services showed that Oxygen Elements Plus (formerly Hydroxygen Plus) completely destroyed Candida albicans yeast and four other pathogens. Oxygen Elements Plus (formerly Hydroxygen Plus) is endorsed as the best liquid oxygen supplement on the market by Ed McCabe, author of the highly regarded book, Oxygen Therapies. It works more effectively and in an entirely different manner than other oxygen supplements.

The typical liquid oxygen supplement puts a burst of oxygen into your body. Which could have some benefits... But is limited in effectiveness because the delivery system is lacking. The oxygen cannot easily spread throughout the body and get into cells to be utilized.
